California,VAS Community here we come? Not so fast.

While The O.C. alum Adam Brody has fond memories of the show that made him a star, he admitted he’s not exactly leaping to reboot the series.

The actor—who starred as dorky heartthrob Seth Cohen on the teen drama from 2003 to 2007—told Vanity Fair in an interview published Sept. 26, “I think it’s perfectly valid to take anything that people like and say, ‘Is there any life left in this? Would anyone care to see more? Would the band like to get back together?’”

Although he noted an O.C. revival may be difficult creatively, Adam added, “Anything’s certainly possible.”

The comments echo what he told E! News in 2023 about revisiting the iconic primetime soap, which also starred Ben McKenzieMischa Barton and Rachel Bilson.

“If there was a reason, like a really inspired idea? Yes,” the Jennifer’s Body star explained. “Other than that, probably not. No. And by ‘inspired idea,’ I mean lots and lots of money.”

Nonetheless, he spoke fondly of his experience working on the show, recalling, “I was so excited to be starting that journey, excited to see people enjoying it. It was such a nice fit for me and the character, feeling really in sync with the writers.”

In 2021, the 44-year-old, who now stars in the Netflix series Nobody Wants This, also expressed reluctance to get behind a reboot.

“I kind of don't think it can be done because I feel like, socially, I think we're in a different place,” Adam said on the Welcome to the OC, Bitches podcast, co-hosted by Bilson and fellow O.C. alum Melinda Clarke. “I think we're in a more conscious place.”

“I feel like The O.C., while it claims to be in a similar sense of Gossip Girl, while it would sort of say it's a critique, it's not,” he continued, referring to his wife Leighton Meester’s former teen drama. “It's a celebration of affluence, in my opinion. Obviously, like, in the heart of it, there's people who are lovely. It's a family at the heart of it, too. There's people who love each other and care for each other and sacrifice for each other. So, it's not a pure celebration of money. It's a celebration of, you know, love and romance and being in high school.”
